There is nothing quite like enjoying a glass of sweet wine at the end of a meal: perhaps with cheese, perhaps with dessert or perhaps simply to enjoy by itself. Many like it as an apéritif or to start a meal, so there is no shortage of reasons to enjoy a glass.
France is the biggest producer of a wide variety of sweet wine styles from the late harvested Gewürztraminer or Riesling from Alsace to the Muscats from the south of France, the great Sauternes wines from Bordeaux or to the sweet reds made from Grenache Noir in the far south.
A 75cl bottle will provide 12 small glasses and the good news is that in general if you open a bottle and cannot finish it, just put it back stoppered in the fridge and thanks to its sugar content, it will keep in good condition for weeks, months even…
